ACCREDITATION EXPERIENCE
Created and Implemented Educational Policies Designed to Improve Democratic Participation: Developed the Higher Learning Commission’s standard on Civic Engagement and Civic Learning and served as a Liaison to College Learning and Democracy Engagement (CLDE).
Developed and Promoted Adult Workforce Programs: As a Vice President at the Higher Learning Commission, created the approval protocol for Competency-Based Education used by all institutions to introduce new programs using this learning platform.
Advocacy to Distinguish High Quality Institutions through Differential Accreditation.
Provided advice and consultation on issues including Board Governance, Development of New Graduate Programs, Developing Quality Initiative Projects: Delivered more than 100 public programs at Higher Learning Conference annual conferences on these and related topics in higher education.
Provided guidance to peer review teams overseeing Comprehensive Evaluations, Change of Control Evaluations, and Focused Visit Monitoring: Delivered regular, annual, in-person and remote educational sessions on the role of peer review to new and experienced reviewers and members of the Institutional Actions Council. Sessions covered such topics as how to conduct comprehensive evaluations and related on-campus visits; how to evaluate remote learning technologies and educational platforms; how to evaluate third-party, outsourced, and non-accredited entities; and how peer review teams should come to consensus in making team recommendations.
Strengthened Academic Quality: Led the academic review of specialized accreditation for programs in law (ABA), clinical laboratory science (NAACLS), and business (AACSB) at Loyola University Chicago: As an academic administrator, gained practical experience managing specialized accreditation for selected academic programs, especially those that required such approvals to deliver programs leading to state licensure.
